🌝 A MUST-DO AFTER PRACTICING CALLIGRAPHY 🌝

LAST, BUT NOT LEAST

Like Savasana, the most important step of yoga.

【Clean and clear, it's for a better practicing next time.】

  • 大休息 _ The calligraphy writing in the picture means Savasana, a moment for us to rest and reset for the future practicing.

Hi, everyone, I've been away for intense works and finally finish my YTT ( Yoga Teacher Training) in September. It's a year training that I changed a lot mentally, and physically. On some point. getting rid of some stubborn ego, really focused on "how to be an instructor" maybe the biggest progress for me after ten years of yoga practicing. I'm glad that I made this decision last year. In the blog, hoping there will be more ideas about yoga and calligraphy.

always prepare
a clean and dry brush that is ready-to-use

So we have done decent calligraphy writings, we now need to clean the tools that absorbs inks and thoughts. I like watching the ink coming out from the brush hair. This is a very therapeutic moment for me.

Like after doing a sequence of yoga, whether it's flow or Hatha yoga, we all need a final Asana to release all the thoughts happening in the class. We call it "Savasana". It is a step that helps us to reflect ourselves. it is also a goodbye for the old, a hello for the new to come.

"Is it a MUST to clean the tool every time?" "Yes, let's keep it a good habit"

Sure thing that you must know, the best way to improve our daily practicing is to focus in the moment, release afterwards, leave no emotions, don't take things personal, and move on to the next challenge.

Cleansing the brush allows us to stop for a while, and really take time to reflect on our practicing. Same as doing house chores in a Sunday morning, doing Savasana in the end of the class, or any other activities that can bring you time to sit down and digest.

So, please do not skip this tiny ending process, it not only helps us to maintain the tools we use daily but also make a good progress to a better living.

Here is the video that shows how I clean my brushes.

Check this short video that may help!

FOLLOW THE STEP

  1. soak your brush in a bowl of water, remove excess ink

  2. even from the bottom, there's still lots of ink needs to be washed away

  3. hang it in an airy space

  4. let it dry, let it reset the shape

May you a well balance day!
